Just thought I would do a little update. The reason I haven't posted in awhile is because there is not much to post. The one bit of news I do have is that on the unofficial waiting list (families from our agency in the Ethiopia program have created this...so it not directly from our agency) we are number 24 in line to get a boy 0-12 months. So that is exciting! Our agency for good reason does not share with us their list. So of course as families who are patiently, or not so patiently waiting we want to know where everyone is in line! So that is why it is unofficial. What our agency does tell us is to expect to wait 4 to 6 months for a referral...which is when they refer a child to you, and you get their picture and any information they have about that child. You then have a certain amount of time to say yes...or if there is any concern you can say no. So since we have sent our dossier, it has been almost three weeks:) WHICH is almost a month! So we will continue to wait.
We have been talking to Mae a lot about her baby brother. We have watched slide shows of other families' adoptions. Every time we start to watch a slide show or a video of an adoption, Mae yells "Baby Brother!". So it is kind of sinking in for her, as much as it can for a two year old. I expect she cannot fully grasp this idea of adopting a brother into our family until he is here and we can hold him in our arms!
We are so blessed to be a part of this process and will continue to wait in God's timing for our son.
